AVG 7.5 Free Edition FAQ » AVG / ewido Anti-Spyware
It looks like you have not yet entered your personal license code in the software.
Please notice the following steps for activating your license:
1. If you have not already installed AVG / ewido Anti-Spyware or are using an old version, please download the latest version and install it.
2. After the installation of the latest version of AVG / ewido Anti-Spyware, please start the software.
3. In the "Status" window of AVG / ewido Anti-Spyware you find the link "Enter license Key"
4. When you click on this link it opens a new dialog where you can enter your personal license key for AVG / ewido Anti-Spyware. After having done so please click the "OK" button to close the dialog and to activate the full version.
Normally, AVG / ewido Anti-Spyware can be removed from your computer by opening "Add/Remove Software" from within the Windows Control Panel. Alternatively, just start the uninstall.exe in the installation folder of the software (e.g.: "C:\Program files\ewido anti-spyware" or "C:\Program files\Grisoft\AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5") and follow the instructions of the uninstall wizard. Please restart Windows after uninstallation.
To be compatible with all other security programs and due to performance reasons, the guard of AVG / ewido Anti-Spyware scans starting applications only. If a malicious program gets on your computer but never manages to start, it won't get detected by the guard.
Please enter your personal licence key to activate the plus version of the AVG / ewido Anti-Spyware, then you will able to activate the realtime-protection and automatic updates.
The message "Your account has been locked." means that the license code you are using has been locked because it was either published on the internet, the payment was not received or has been refunded. If this is not the case and you have bought AVG / ewido Anti-Spyware, please contact us with a proof of purchase.
Unfortunately the AVG / ewido Anti-Spyware only works with Windows 2000 and XP as it was developed to use many of the features introduced with Windows 2000. Also we currently can't and most likely won't provide a version for older Windows versions in future.
It looks like the main window is stuck outside the visible screen area. To correct this, please right click on the taskbar item and select "Move". After that, please press any cursor key on your keyboard. Now you should be able to reposition the window using your mouse into the visible area.
