Internet Explorer 8 and 9
- Click the Tools button (gear icon in the upper right) and select Internet options.
- Under the General tab, click Use Blank (or enter a new home page).
- Under the Programs tab, click the Manage add-ons button.
- On the left, select Search Providers.
- Click on another search engine and click the Set as default button.

Click on AVG Secure Search and click the Remove button.
Note: It may not be removed from the list until you restart Internet Explorer. - Open a new tab, click on Settings in the bottom right corner and uncheck the box.
- click OK and restart Internet Explorer.
Google Chrome (most recent version)
- Click the wrench icon (upper-right corner) and select Settings.
- Under Search, select a new default search engine using the drop down menu.
- Click the Manage search engines… button.
- Select AVG Secure Search and click on the X on the right to delete it.
- Under On Startup, click the Set pages link.

Delete the AVG Search page by clicking on the X on the right.
Note: you can also add a new search engine if you like. - Click OK and then restart Chrome.
Mozilla Firefox
- In the search window in the upper right corner, click the search provider icon and select Manage Search Engines…
- Select AVG Secure Search and select the Remove button and then click OK.
- In the upper-left corner of the browser, click the orange Firefox button and choose Options > Options.
- Under the General tab, delete the current "Home Page" link or enter a new one.
- Click OK.
- Open a new tab, click on Settings in the bottom right corner, uncheck the box
- click OK and restart Firefox.
